Why Join Summit Rotary Club?

Rotary International is the largest service organization in the world with over 1.2 million members in 200 countries. With a legacy of almost 7 decades, Summit Rotary is proud of our growing membership and, more importantly, of the service our club provides. Summit is a group of more than 100 professional women and men who pledge to live by the motto "Service Above Self." What makes Summit unique? First and foremost, it's our members. Summit Rotary Club has a rich mix of new and experienced members. While half of our membership has less than 10 years of service, the other half has anywhere from 10 to 50 years of service! This unique mix within our membership brings both energy and experience to all of Summit's projects and activities. Additionally, we are proud of the work we do not only in and around our community, but around the world. Summit Rotary encourages fellowship, networking and engagement. We support and nurture not only the community, but each other as well.

New Member Expectations

Time Commitment

Like any Rotary club, Summit expects only those committed to engagement will join. Summit Rotary meets every week over lunch; each week promises not only Club news and updates, but an exciting speaker or program as well. If you miss a Summit meeting, there are plenty of clubs around the Triad (and, of course, around the world) to choose from in order to make up your missed meeting. But, at Summit, we're not all hard work! Each month we gather at a different location for social events that bring together our membership for fellowship and fun. These socials are certainly not mandatory, but you can always expect an energetic group of fellow Summit Rotarians and, of course, lots of laughter.

Service Commitment

We ask all new members to join at least two of our more than 30 committees. You can get involved in anything from managing one of our 20 yearly scholarships, to our fundraiser that nets $100,000 in charity funding each year.

Financial Commitment

We know that potential members need a good understanding for what their financial commitments will be. As a Summit Rotarian, you will be asked to contribute $286.00 per quarter, which includes Rotary International and Rotary District dues, along with meals. We also ask that you contribute at least $350.00, once a year, to our annual club fundraiser. This amount is used to pay a $100.00 sustaining membership annually and $250.00 for the club fundraiser.
