FAQ

Q: I understand that there are a bunch of Rotary clubs in Greensboro. Why should I join Summit Rotary?
A: The only way to choose a Rotary Club is to visit it (more than once) and see if you feel like you could fit into that group. Does the club have energy, and seem to be doing lots of projects? Are the people friendly, helpful and involved? At Summit we pride ourselves on being an extremely active club. The ideal member candidate is someone who is interested in dedicating their time, talent and treasure to Service Above Self. We have lots of fun (with lots of socials), but, above all, we get things DONE. Does that appeal to you? You might be a future Summit Rotarian. Come visit us and see!
Q: I have heard that Rotary is expensive. Is that true?
A: For most Rotary clubs, including Summit, the biggest expense is the cost of the meal during the weekly meeting. We meet at Starmount Country Club and we are charged $210 per quarter for meals. That works out to $840 per year. Additionally, you are charged $200 per year in dues. Finally, we hold a fundraiser each year and expect that each member will contribute at least $350 to the fundraiser. Many members donate significantly more, and we would hope that you would consider doing so.
Q: How do I join?
A: You can find more information about how to join here:
Q: What exactly is Rotary?
A: "We are 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community leaders who come together to create positive, lasting change in our communities and around the world." You can find out more at the Rotary International Website found here: https://www.rotary.org/en/about-rotary
Q: Who can I contact for more information?
A: You can send an email to contactus@summitrotary.org
Q: I want to attend a meeting - how do I get there?
A: Park across from Starmount Country Club's pool and walk up to the main clubhouse past the pool. We are in the ballroom through the first double doors.
